We are moving between Pisa and Milan for work, and in recent weeks we are traveling by car because using the train, as we usually do, has become unsustainable.
For us, the train was the most comfortable and environmentally friendly way we could use, but it is no longer possible to travel without air conditioning and with sealed windows. We can’t stand it.
On our last trip, returning from the Cinque Terre, we were in the car, and the sun beat so hard that it bothered our clothes and body. The imitation leather interior does not help. So we stopped in the air and … save who can!
The heat was so absurd as to miss the breath. We filled up with water like we had to go to the desert, but the more we drank, the more we wanted fresh water. When we returned home, we stormed the fridge with all kinds of drinks and fruit. And after having tried a terrifying heat ever and drunk everything we had at home to quench our thirst, here we have found the solution to our problem.
We found the real antidote against the heat. Fruit! Yes, of course, that is all right, but we noticed that the only thing that quenches our thirst is watermelon! Yes, the banal watermelon.
Do you know that there are over 1200 varieties of this fruit? And which can reach weights up to 90 kg? But seriously, can you imagine a 90 kg watermelon?
The watermelon, as we all know, is composed of water, to be precise, 95% of its composition is water. What you may not know is that the watermelon is rich in vitamins, mineral salts, potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium.
Better to consume it cold to quench your thirst faster! And the beautiful thing is that it is a sweet fruit but has no calories! So it’s also dietary. It helps fight water retention and is indicated in cases of hypertension.
In addition to eating the watermelon, we have developed a fresh, straightforward drink that we have been drinking for two weeks now.
Here is the list of ingredients: watermelon, water, lime, mint leaves, and ice — nothing else.
Try it for yourself; it’s the most refreshing drink in the world!
